This bobcat was hit by a truck and the driver kept going. A man in the truck following saw what had happened and went and picked up this large cat. He thought it was dead and thought maybe he'd get it mounted. He threw it into the back of his truck and went a great distance in the snow and cold. He took it to his place of work and was showing it to everyone. They discovered the bobcat was still alive and immediately took it to a vet in Erie County. The vet didn't know what to do, he called me and said he was going to put him to sleep. I told him to medicate him and we'd meet him half way. The bobcat remained in a coma for seven days, he was cut up very badly and over these seven days, we did alot of stiching. We took him to Pittsburgh on the seventh day, after he came out of the coma. There we put in a plate and a pin in his leg. Eventually he was released at our feeding station and is doing great.

Last year, we got a male duck that needed it's wing amputated. I fixed him up and put him out in the pen. The very next day in came a baby duck. I figured he needed some excercise so I threw him into the swimming pool and threw in the baby duck as well. The next day, two more baby ducks came in. Now none of these ducks were from the same nest and he's nursing all of them. All together I had seven baby ducks from different clutches, and he now thinks he's female and these are his babies. Eventually, I got in a female duck who needed to have part of her lung removed. I got her fixed up and threw her into the pool with the rest of them. Now, he didn't want to give the babies up, but eventually she weened them all off of him. He now just protected them, like a male duck normally would. After a month the mother was ready to be released and the babies were getting older, so I took her to the bellwood resevoir and released her. That night there was a commotion outside and it was the mother who had found her way back to her babies, trying to break into the pen. About a week later I released them together at a pond, they lived there for awhile and she taught them how to migrate.

Many years ago, I placed this little monkey with a lady and a man who really couldn't adopt, because of their age. This creature was there baby. As a matter of fact, they had a priest there to bless it when it came and they put a little white dress on it. This was their child. Because they loved it so much and raised it so well, it was very intelligent. Unfortunately, it was like god meant them to have this monkey, because she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Slowly as her condition worsened, the monkey became her arms and her legs. She can be alone with the monkey and he gives her care.

This swan dropped down in front of a vehicle going up route I-99. It had been shot twice. We worked on this very large bird, which was nearly dead and removed two bullets. The lady who brought us the swan asked,"if it gets well, can I rehab it on my pond?" Well, we got it well and three weeks later I called her and told her to meet me and my husband at the Bellwood Post Office. She arrived in a brand new bronco and was very excited. Now, I had told my husband the swan was quite well now, to tape the box very good. A swan is very strong and this was a very large bird. By the time I reached my house there was already a message on the machine, saying,"My God, Oh My God, the bird got loose and crapped all over my bronco and it flogged me, but now it's ok and the swans on the pond and doing well, but I don't think I'll ever get my bronco cleaned.

We got a baby squirel and a bunny at the same time. We raised them together. They related to each other as siblings. They ate together, slept together, cuddled together, played together........they did everything as one. So eventually we released them together and they have been seen going to the sanctuary still together.
